FALMOUTH SPRING

East side of the karst window, looking much as it must have to the first explorers. Falmouth Spring is 39 feet deep and its river run is the shortest in the world at 450 feet. It is surrounded by hardwood and pine forest and the appearance from this perspective is as if it is untouched by human presence, with its heavy tree canopy and otherwordly shade. It is a bit Gothic in its primitive state; there is a quality of spookiness to it that draws me in.
